About Vernon Auto Repair

Vernon Auto Repair was first started back in 1998 in Long Island City, New York. As a family-owned and operated business, Vernon Auto Repair abides by a code of ethics unlike other auto repair shops. Our promise to provide the highest quality service remains the same after 24 years of business; when we give you a repair quote, you can trust we aren't including services you don't need or inflating our prices

Vernon Auto Repair is an auto repair shop in Long Island City, New York. It is listed at 38-01 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11101, which places it among the local businesses of Long Island City that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as auto bodywork mechanic, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is Open 24 hours. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Vernon Auto Repair at (718) 666-7592; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 156 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Long Island City.

Long Island City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Long Island City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They fixed my car in just 10 hours. I dropped it off around 11 PM, and it was ready the next morning. The issue turned out to be a bad alternator, and they replaced it quickly. They did an amazing job, provided a 1-year warranty, and kept me updated throughout the process. I highly recommend them!

I had an outstanding experience at Vernon’s Auto Repair! Huge thanks to Mr. Ali and Mr. Arfin for their honesty, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. I brought my 2020 Honda Civic in for an A/C compressor replacement. They performed a thorough inspection completely free of charge and gave me a very fair price for the repair. The work was done efficiently, and my A/C is now working perfectly. What really impressed me was how much they genuinely care about their customers. While they were replacing my A/C compressor, they noticed my serpentine belt needed to be changed and offered to replace it at no extra cost, which I really appreciated. They even gave me a Jarritos while I was waiting—a thoughtful gesture that made the whole experience feel welcoming. I also want to give a special shoutout to Mr. Arfin. He didn’t mind me watching him work on my car and was happy to answer my questions throughout the repair. That level of transparency gave me complete confidence that the job was being done right. To top it all off, they stand behind their work by providing a 1-year warranty on their repairs, which gave me even more peace of mind. It’s hard to find mechanics you c

This is my second time here and I’ve had great experiences at Vernon Auto Repair. Mr. Ali and Mr. Arfin are the real deal! I’ve had my battery changed, AC checked and an oil change. Price was communicated upfront. They got the job done quickly and without any hassle. What stood out the most was the honesty. They were upfront about everything and didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary work. If you're looking for trustworthy mechanics, this is the place. I'll definitely be back!

5/5 Stars – Top-Notch, Honest, and Fast! I had an incredible experience at Vernon Auto Repair. Ali and Ahmed provided top-class service replacing front and rear brake pads at a reasonable price. They recommended the best parts for my car with zero scams or hidden fees—all expenses were communicated clearly upfront. Ahmed also explained how the entire braking works and he even went extra mile by checking my AC blower motor and swapping it with a new one I had, free of charge! The entire process was done right in front of me, and I was out the door in just 90 minutes. Ali also got me coffee since they asked me to be there early morning 8am. These guys are super sweet, efficient, and professionals. If you want reasonable, efficient, fast service, reliable and honest customer service, this is the place. Definitely my go-to shop from now on!
